Making the Invisible Visible: What is Groundwater?

Groundwater is one of New South Wales’ most vital natural resources, sustaining communities, economies, and ecosystems. To help the public understand its importance and how it’s managed, the NSW Department of Planning and Environment commissioned an explainer animation that could communicate clearly, simply, and with impact.

I designed and animated the flagship video, establishing the illustration and motion style that balanced scientific accuracy with accessible storytelling. Its success led to the development of a full series of six additional animations, each expanding on specific aspects of groundwater management.
