Balancing Growth & Nature: Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan

Commissioned by the NSW Government Department of Planning and Environment, the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan is one of Australia’s largest and most ambitious strategic conservation initiatives. Designed to guide rapid growth across Western Sydney, the plan strikes a careful balance, streamlining development for new housing, jobs, and infrastructure while protecting biodiversity and vital koala habitats.

To bring this vision to life, I developed two flagship animations that visualised how urban expansion and environmental protection could work hand-in-hand. These animations were crafted to simplify complex policy into clear, engaging storytelling, supported by shorter cut-down versions tailored for social media to broaden reach and engagement.
